Ricky Greenwood wins his biggest directing award yet at the 34th NightMoves Awards, capping a year of five nominations and over 800 career nods.
Ricky Greenwood has been on a tear for years. But this past Sunday, the French-Canadian director and writer finally took home the one trophy that had eluded him: Best Feature Director at the 34th Annual NightMoves Awards.
The ceremony, held at The Stockyard in Holiday, Florida, was hosted by Lauren Phillips with co-host Melony Melons. Greenwood wasn't there to accept in person โ he was busy directing another feature โ but his absence didn't dim the significance of the win.
"Unfortunately, I was directing a feature and was unable to attend the ceremony," Greenwood said. "But I'm truly honored to have won this award. Thank you to all my casts, crews, and studios that I worked with this year, the fans who voted for me, and of course, everyone at NightMoves."
### A Night of Near Misses and One Big Win
Greenwood went into the evening with five nominations: Best Feature Director, Best Feature Film for Digital Playground's *Deadly Vows* and Dorcel's *Strip*, and Best Transsexual Release for Transsensual's *TS Adventures #2* and *TS Chronicles #2*. He walked away with the directing prize โ a well-deserved cap to a remarkable year.
### From Mainstream to Adult: A Director's Journey
Greenwood's path to this moment wasn't typical. He entered the adult industry in 2017 with a nudge from Mile High Media VP John Blitt, but his background was pure mainstream: television, reality TV, documentaries, feature films, and shorts. That experience shaped his story-driven approach.
Over the past eight years, he's become known for narrative features like *Raw*, *Wanted*, *Deadly Vows*, *Strip*, *Project X*, *Machine Gunner*, *Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2: The Rise of Sister Mona*, *Terror Camp*, *Talk Derby to Me*, *Grinders*, and *Killer on the Loose*. And he's worked across straight, gay, trans, and lesbian genres with top studios like Sweetheart Video, TransSensual, Icon Male, Dorcel, Adult Time, AllHerLuv, Parasited, and MissaX.
### A Trophy Case That Keeps Growing
His awards shelf is already crowded. Greenwood has won multiple XBIZ Awards for Director of the Year โ Body of Work (Narrative), All-Girl Movie of the Year, Best Editing, and Director of the Year โ Trans from AVN. He's also taken home Director of the Year, Best Directing Portfolio โ Varied Range, Outstanding Directing โ Individual Work Grand Reel, and Best Screenplay โ Featurette from XRCO. Add to that Fan Favorite Director, Best Lesbian Movie or Limited Series, Feature Movie of the Year, and Best Girl/Girl Release from Urban X; a Lifetime Achievement Award and multiple Best Scene Producer wins from the TEAs; Best Ruining Xmas for Adult Time's *The Bargain* from the Bazowie Awards; and a stack of NightMoves honors including Best Feature Film, Best All-Girl Release Editor's Choice, and Best Feature Production Fans' Choice.
He's also received over 800 nominations across AVN, XBIZ XMAs, TEAs, DSN, NightMoves, XRCOs, Urban X, Fleshbot, XCritic, and Inked Awards. In July 2024, he was featured in Forbes. He's been in Hustler twice, graced the cover of ASN Lifestyle Magazine's September 2023 issue with a 14-page feature, and in summer 2026 was profiled by Holly Randall's Wet Ink Magazine.
