The Country Quietly Dominating Live Cam — And It's Not Where You Think

When you think about the global live cam industry, your mind probably jumps to studios in Eastern Europe or maybe a few big names in the US. But new data suggests there's a different country quietly taking the lead — and it might surprise you. ### Colombia's Surprising Share More than one in five live cam models is in Colombia. That's according to the latest weekly Live Cam Data Report from CamTrends, which tracked the top 10 cam sites every 10 minutes from October 14 to October 20, 2026. Over that week, Colombia averaged 5,698 live models — a whopping 22.4% of all models online across those platforms. Let that sink in. Nearly a quarter of the live cam workforce, at least on the major sites, was broadcasting from one country. That's not a fluke; it's a pattern that's been building for a while. ### Why Colombia? So what's behind Colombia's rise? A few things stand out: - **Time zone advantage:** Colombia sits in the US Eastern Time zone, making it easy for models to align with peak North American viewing hours. - **Growing studio infrastructure:** Cities like Bogotá and Medellín have seen a boom in professional cam studios that offer training, equipment, and support. - **Economic factors:** For many Colombians, camming offers a flexible income that can be significantly higher than local wages. - **Cultural openness:** The industry has become more accepted, attracting a steady stream of new talent. ### What This Means for the Industry For platforms, Colombia is now a key market. For viewers, it means more choice — and more competition among models to stand out. For industry watchers, it's a reminder that the live cam world is truly global, with new hubs emerging all the time. "We've been tracking these numbers for years, and Colombia's growth has been steady and impressive," says a CamTrends analyst. "It's not just about quantity; it's about the quality and professionalism of the models coming out of there." ### The Bigger Picture This data is just a snapshot from one week, but it's a telling one. As the live cam industry continues to evolve, expect to see more geographic shifts. Colombia's dominance might not last forever, but for now, it's the undisputed leader. Whether you're a fan, a model, or just curious about the business, one thing's clear: the next time you log on, there's a good chance you'll be connecting with someone in Colombia.
